While unable to get to my internet at the bottom of the garden.....snow and ice......I've finally got there and until Tudnofm gets back on the air.... a few thoughts on TV's annual musical celebrations.
X FACTOR.
So many artists and critics bombard this programme with hate unheard of in media circles. I enjoy the show and take it for what it is.....entertainment with an unbeleivable dream situation for the winner, in this instance Matt Cardle. My only problem with the show is the amount of lies and hype which appears every week that the show is broadcast. I suspect Simon Cowell is well aware of this and possibly encourages it, I think to the detriment of the show. The truth would be a great improvement. Don't build up the hard-luck stories. Don't tell us of backstage arguments. We don't want to hear of illnesses, old flames, pets, etc, etc which sometimes has an effect on public voting......just tell us all the truth at the beginning and let the voting public make up their own mind on who will get then eventual prize.
STRICKLY COME DANCING.
A great show this year with great effort from the celebrities. The best woman won. Always sparkely, colourful and enjoyable. The Sunday half-hour programme was a waste of time without the dance-off included and most people proberbly did what I did. Switch from another channel for the last five minutes to find out who had been voted off. Brucie will proberbly retire . I would if I were he, but on the other hand he keeps it moving along at his pace and one wonders if contestants like John Sergeant or Ann Widdicome would have entered the show knowing they would be surrounded with young people. Their appearances on the show have been very amusing and since the producers of the show have warmed to the idea of pure entertainment and not necessarily top class dancing things have improved. A great entertainment show this year. ICE DANCING NEXT !!!
