A very Jerry Herman score which became immensely popular after the show had folded after 65 performances. Due mainly to David Jacobs featuring the overture which had become well known as Ice Dancers Torville and Dean used it to receive gold at the Olympics for Ice Dancing. The score is wonderful even if the script was not and the downbeat ending because of Mabel Mormands early death was difficult to thread into an upbeat show. A great musical CD.*****.
