SUPERSTAR ON TV.

Andrew Lloyd Webber is looking for a young male singer to play Jesus Christ in his "superstar show" in
arenas all over Britain. He has chosen the Simon Cowell system of choosing the winner even now that
he is on ITV. Early ratings proved disappointing , but now it runs with all the trappings of an X factor/
find a musical star gloss, backstories, judging panel, and many cliches....chance of a lifetime.....one hundred
and ten per cent....etc, etc.   I recorded it and found I was using the fast forward button just the same
as I had on other reality shows. This time I was skipping adverts along with judging panel's views, backstories, and some singers .  All the singers are very professional and experianced as would be
expected and the choice of songs were good for this type of rock opera. The dancers and backing
singers were also of a high quality but unlike previous AL Webber shows different musical type
songs were not apparent. It was "sing out" songs which I suppose is what is required in a rock
opera arena show. A little tedious. Graham Norton was definitely missing. He has the habit of
tongue in cheek quips and a sense of humour  that allows us not to take it too seriously and with
only Dawn French in the judging panel to furnish this task it was not enough. She should have
been the compere and given the light and shade that David Walliams gave to Britain's got Talent.
