PIERRE & COMET OF 1842.
Several tracks played and more to come next week. I am a little puzzled over the success at the
moment of this Musical. I found it's leaning to opera a little disconcerting for a hit broadway
show and makes for a confusing CD even with Josh Groban as the main star. There are no big
melodic songs here....and one supposes that a vibrant stage performance and effects has made it
a must-see show. It's box office has been good. New musicals with different styles are beginning
to emerge as the new popular genre .....maybe this is a youth transition from revivals of long ago
hits and "safe" productions. Things are definitely changing and I will dwell longer when I feature
a few more tracks in next weeks show this coming Sunday.
