Light Operettas were the entertainment of the day with Gilbert and Sullivan's being the favourites. As far as commercial music was concerned Music Hall and Variety were British staples all over the country. In America it was Burlesque and Follies. The "Musical" as we know it today had not arrived.

While tudno fm has been sleeping I have been off air but will be returning this Sunday 10th January 2-4pm with MAGIC OF THE MUSICALS which will include a new decade show starting with 1900-1909 and incorporating all musical shows(Broadway and the West End) and featured songs successful at this time. I will be playing tracks and talking about the musicals that people went to see in large numbers. The following week I will also be playing the TOP TEN AMERICAN SHOWS PLAYING THAT WEEK.

THE COLIN HOLMES EASY LISTENING SHOW will return on Tuesday 8-10pm January 12th and this programme will include all non-released songs by Frank Sinatra in Britain. After he started REPRISE records in the early sixties he vetoed several records for the commercial market and they were never heard of again......till now.
