listenable and the Bacharach backings are a great asset.*********.

SONY MUSIC.

American choice of the best music around is not as good as it should be. Very similar
sounding music with a lot of power ballads. "Happy" changes the mood and it is
a welcome relief.....however Mathis's voice is in good form often with a backing choir
to add some vocal power and remembering how old Mr Mathis is I can't complain
but I can see why this album has not been publicised  in the usual way.  Mathis
fans need not worry.*******.

Philip and Margaret Jones joined me on Sunday talking about LYMT in Llandudno. They
started the society for young people and now after 40 years it is as strong as ever with
many youngsters benefitting from the experience  having  gone on to a professional
acting career.  There are two societies...Stage Notes for the younger ones and LYMT

BARNUM.

To celebrate the fortieth year they put on Barnum at Venue Cymru a few weeks ago.
A very impressive production with a well rehearsed ensemble and very competent
performances from the leading players....I have to mention Joshua Davies who played
P.T.Barnum and belied his young age to me and gave an outstanding performance in
a part that requires professionalism in acting and performance. After 40 years a landmark
show and next year OKLAHOMA  at Venue Cymru July 2019.

Bobby Rydell "s career in music was shortened, like all others, by the emergence
of the Beatles and subsequent Liverpool groups covering the charts in all countries
with the Liverpool sound.   A tuneful singer whose initial "Kissin' time" was a rock
'n roll Masterpiece for every dancefloor. He had to revive old Dean Martin hits
with a latin rock beat to introduce a new sound and then travel to London to record
"Forget him" written and produced by Tony Hatch to lengthen his recording hits.
He then retired to Television and touring sixties shows. 25 of his releases are
recorded here all sounding like the early sixties but well sung and clearly recorded.********.

audiences who loved the gentle crooning approach to ,both his up-tempo releases , and his
quiet ballads. Unfortunately his career was cut short by his untimely death in 1985.
