EASY LISTENING SHOW MARCH 2OTH. DEAN MARTIN,PERRY COMO,BING CROSBY.

FOREVER COOL....DEAN MARTIN.
Tracks played....I can't believe that you're in love with me ( with Joss Stone) / Who was that Lady?
You're nobody till somebody loves you ( with Shelby Lynne) / Brahm's Lullaby.

A fourteen track CD recorded with brand new up to date big band and guest singers. Because Dean Martin
often recorded on one track, his voice could be isolated and therefore renewed and repeated as though
it was a live recording. This works well on solo tracks but I am always dismayed when guests(Kevin Spacey,
Robbie Williams and others) speak to him when he blatantly isn't there. I find this odd. Good swinging
album.

HOW THE WEST WAS WON....BING CROSBY,ROSEMARY CLOONEY AND OTHER
                                                      COUNTRY SINGERS.

A re-release of a 1959 album by the Bear Family. Excellant quality on this recording of early
American pioneer songs beautifully performed and sung by Crosby and Clooney with assistance
from choirs and singers. Unusual but first class.

THE COMO YEARS PART 3.

EASY LISTENING SHOW FEATURING SHIRLEY BASSEY / DOROTHY PROVINE

DOROTHY PROVINE..THE ROARING TWENTIES. Tracks Played....

Crazy words crazy tune / Bye bye blackbird / Whisper song / Laugh clown laugh / Charleston
Doin the Racoon / Black Bottom / Don't bring Lulu / A cup of coffee , a sandwich, and you

This re-released album of 20s music belongs to an attractive blond who starred in the TV series
The Roaring Twenties. Although the programme was no great shakes the music was original with
original orchestrations and an impressive 20s feel. Well produced and lasting over an hour this
is a bright happy commercial album.

SHIRLEY BASSEY.... THE REMIX ALBUM. DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER.

Tracks played...Big Spender / Diamonds are forever.

This is an album to put on in the car. As a driving background it is great. As a expressionist dancing
album it is also great. Amusing.

EASY LISTENING SHOW FEATURING CONNIE FRANCIS,PETER GRANT.

Two featured albums....CONNIE AND CLYDE....PETER GRANT.

CONNIE AN CLYDE.... Tracks played....

Connie and Clyde / Am I blue / Buddy can you spare a dime / Maybe.

A twenty track CD re released from 1968 with Connie Francis in fine voice. With tongue firmly

in cheek she smiles her way through songs from the thirties with Don Costa giving good

backing which is amusingly entertaining. Good swinging treatment of the bonus tracks is also

good value and I found the album charming. A good reasonable buy at less that £5.50.

PETER GRANT

TRACKS PLAYED......Walk away/You're the first, the last ,my everything / On days like these.

The original Peter Grant CD released about four years ago showing the talent this young

man had to emulate Buble,Connick, etc here in Britain. His new album reveals a different

course he has taken which is extremely disappointing. If you can find this album it is

a gem.

EASY LISTENING SHOW FEATURING MATT MUNRO / PETER GRANT.

PETER GRANT (NEW ALBUM " PETER GRANT"....TRACKS PLAYED..

When you were my girl / International / Rosina.

I thought when I heard the new single that this new album from Peter Grant would follow
in his Micheal Buble/Matt Munro style with up to date new material but this is a complete new Peter Grant.
Sadly although his voice is great the songs, self penned, are only pleasant and his need to sing higher
'although a popular attribute at the moment' doesn't work.  After two good albums I find this disappointing.

MATT MONRO (THE RARE MONRO)....TRACKS PLAYED....

All that remains/Try to remember / New York New York / So little time/ that's the wonder of Woolworths.

If you're a Monro fan then this 2CD album is excellant to add to your collection. Twelve tracks are a swinging band, not really top of my list as all tracks are live, but the rest is mainly what Monro does
best....Ballads, some never released, some released and forgotten and some real gems and there are
some tracks he made for adverts. As a whole , an extraordinarily good singer with sufficient cherries
to pick in the tracks to make it a worthwhile purchase....but don't expect Born Free!!

COLIN HOLMES EASY LISTENING SHOW FEBRUARY 14TH.

If you were the only girl in the world....DREAM WITH DEAN.*****. Memories are made of this / Innarmorata / Volare / Return to me Just in time...album...THE BEST OF....(CAPITOL)**** I've got my love to keep me warm / Winter romance..CHRISTMAS WITH DINO**** Always in my heart....DINO LATINO.***. THE PAUL MCCARTNEY ALBUM KISSES ON THE BOTTOM.****. The glory of love / Always /My Valentine /I'm gonna sit right down and write myself a letter. Although many have rejected this album as disappointing I have to admit to enjoying the concept of' close to the mike' intimate singing for a gentleman in his mature years. There are surprises and the self penned songs are excellant. Many others have tried this before and failed but McCartney definitely falls into the success story of those who passed. A gentle reward for all of his fans. OTHER TRACKS PLAYED ON SHOW Love me tonight....Tom Jones. Move over darling....Doris Day. Love is in the air...John Paul Jones.
