New blog starting with the return to the airwaves of Tudnofm 107.8. No more playlists
as playlists for the show are all over previous blogs and there are many repeats. Just reviews
with more details of new and existing Easy listening albums.  Colin Holmes.

THE REAL HENRY MANCINI.....RCA VICTOR(3CDS) Online £10
Tracks played on EASY LISTENING and MAGIC OF THE MUSICALS.....

Peter Gunn  / Moon river / Moon river cha cha / Charade / Latin Snowfall / The Pink
Panther / A shot in the dark / Days of wine and roses / The Untouchables / Theme from
Cade's county.

60 Tracks on this good value triple album covering every Henry Mancini song plus some
others orchestrated by him.  There is a large amount of incidental film music contained
in the sixty song choices which are strictly background music however you cannot dispute
the good Mancini output which naturally stands out. 3star.***.

THE RISE AND FALL OF RUBY WOO...THE PUPPINI SISTERS...UNIVERSAL /
VERVE / UCJ.....£9.95. Cheaper now. That was the price in 2007.

Tracks played regularly.....
Walk like an Egyptian / Old Cape Cod / It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing /
Could it be magic / Don't sit under the apple tree / Crazy in love / We have all the time
in the world.

This is not every track...there are 13 in all and not a bad one amongst them. A cross between
the Beverly sisters, the Andrews sisters with up to date songs ( not all ) and simple modern
backings. They create different feelings to songs like CRAZY IN LOVE, COULD IT BE MAGIC
etc. I find the slow songs not as successful as the up tempo numbers but that's just a personal
opinion.  As a whole  it is an entertaining mix and the number of times I have included songs
from this album on my shows on Radio is great  4stars.****.

The new blogs will continue every week now..... to tune in.....
