NANCY SINATRA + MILLION SELLERS OF 1956 ON COLIN HOLMES EASY LISTEING SHOW SEPTEMBER 23RD.

NANCY SINATRA...THE ESSENTIAL NANCY SINATRA...EMI...LIBERTY nancysinatra.com

tracks played....
Sugar town / The Highway song / How does that grab you darlin' / I love them all ( the boys
in the band).

For all of Nancy Sinatra's hits this is good value although I do find the duets with Lee
Hazelwood a little dour and dirgy. The extras on this 26 track CD vary greatly and I found
some inclusions unusual  and some not well recorded......however there are 10 hits and
four of these are million sellers and it was a discounted price. Good value.3star***.

THE 1956 BRITISH HIT PARADE...JANUARY TO JULY.(4CDS)  ACROBAT MUSIC
ACQCD 7002.

TRACKS PLAYED.....

The ballad of Davy Crockett...Bill Hayes / Love and Marriage...Frank Sinatra / Memories
are made of this...Dean Martin / It's almost tomorrow...The dream Weavers / Rock and
roll waltz...Kay Starr / Heartbreak Hotel...Elvis Presley / The Happy whistler....Don
Robertson / Hot Diggity...Perry Como / Too young to go steady..Nat King Cole / Whatever
will be will be...Doris Day / Why do fools fall in love..Frankie Lymon & the teenagers.

This 4CD album has 94 tracks. On the programme the above nine were chosen as million
sellers. The albums have EVERY top twenty hit in Britain on them.....not all are top class
and some are technically lifted off old 45s or 78s so recording value  is not as from Master
Tapes which other selected nostalgia CDs have gone to the trouble of doing. That does not
it is poor value, quite the opposite, it is a true reflection of the hit single output in Britain
for the first six months of 1956. 4star****.
